Doctor's Only

Patients’ right to information is undeniable. After all, this was the reason for creating this website. Patients are entitled to know the health effects of the proposed surgery, possible complications, the normal postoperative course, and any restrictions on their immediate and long- term activities.

There are, however, some details such as the stages of surgery, which are not only unnecessary for the patient but often even repellent.

Nevertheless, the medical presentation of these pictures is of pivotal importance for the medical world. They provide us with the opportunity to express opinions, to establish a productive dialogue, and give younger colleagues the chance to learn more. The ultimate benefit goes back to the patient.

Therefore, this is the reason for which this section applies only to doctors. In no way does it constitute an entrenchment of the medical profession; neither does it underestimate the patient’s intelligence or need for information.
